The Maplewood Foundation provides grants to empower nonprofits, established and aspiring, to implement new or expanding programs that improve the quality of life for Maplewood and South Orange residents.
In 2026, The Maplewood Foundation plans to award at least $100,000—and we’re actively fundraising to give even more. The bulk of the funding will be in the form of Program Grants which will be awarded to established non-profit organizations. Grant applications should be in line with their nonprofit's budget.
The Seed Grant budget will be a maximum of $5,000. These funds will be awarded for one or more grants submitted by aspiring nonprofits that do not meet the eligibility criteria for a Program grant.
Please review the eligibility criteria for both Program and Seed Grants on our website. There is also an Eligibility Quiz at the beginning of the application.
The grant application may be completed across multiple sessions. Your information will be auto saved every time you leave a field. There is also a Save Draft button at the bottom for additional piece of mind.

The application period opens June 1, 2026 at 12:00AM and closes on September 1, 2026 at 11:59PM. Funding decisions will be made in late October, at which point The Maplewood Foundation will be in touch with all applicants about the awards through a message from Submittable.
